“When Scott Barnard designed our primary residence we spent a great deal of preliminary time discussing our lifestyle and what our dreams were for our home.  Scott came up with a design that more than perfectly met our needs, even anticipating future needs, such as an apartment that now houses my elderly father.  In the beginning of the process, he took careful consideration of the land, the existing trees, the view, and he sited it perfectly, a feature that I've observed many architects miss.  When our house was finished, a friend remarked to me, in what I've always treasured as a high compliment, "Your house looks as if it has always been there!"  We had a collection of salvaged materials, and Scott was excited to use them, and he gave us suggestions of creative ways to use them.

We were so pleased with our primary residence that when it came time to design a second home on the Gulf Coast, we never considered any other architect.  We couldn't be more pleased with both of our homes, and we highly recommend Scott Barnard and his team as architects.”

"Scott Barnard designed my home, located at 15 Cardinal Road, in Savannah, Georgia.   This is the fourth home I have owned and is probably the last home I will own.  It has been shown in local magazines and been on home tours and is the subject of many compliments.

The attraction of the house is a product of the design, detail and construction, all of which are of the highest quality.  Our home is strikingly beautiful, fits the geography and historical significance of its location (Isle of Hope) but most of all, is truly a home because it is so livable.  Our family uses the entire house – there is no wasted space.

I give my highest recommendation to anyone considering using Scott Barnard and his firm."

"Thanks for all of your and Bob's good work to help us create our "dream" house."

“We chose Scott Barnard and his team as our architects when we decided to build our home on the marsh.  They are brilliant!

The mountains of decisions that surround you when designing a home were easily navigated with their knowledge, creativity and experience.  We took some ideas to them and they polished and expanded on those ideas to create the wonderful home we reside in.

They have our highest regard and recommendation.”

“We are very pleased to provide a reference for Barnard Architects, Bob and the whole design/build team regarding the concept, planning, contracting, and counsel throughout the project and beyond, to construction, revisions intra project and completion.

From the very first drawing of the exterior design y'all captured what our eye was hoping to see in trying to create a 20's/30's style Beach house from a mid 60's concrete box.  Being able to stay within the footprint but nearly tripling the living space AND continuously comply with Tybee codes and our esthetics was quite a feat.

The use of "space" created a one of a kind home for us and one that provides a quiet, private, elegant retreat.  On the books it was a renovation, yet the appearance is as if it's always been there.  A bit more than 10 years out the evidence affirming our choices of low-maintenance materials and systems is clear as the exterior maintenance involves hosing off the salt spray and pollen a couple of times a year.  The Ipe' flooring on the porch hasn't moved 1/64th of an inch and there's a lot of porch there.”

“Twenty five years ago, Scott Barnard designed our primary residence.  We spent a great deal of preliminary time discussing our lifestyle and what our dreams were for our home.

Once again we went through a process of discussing what plans we had in mind for this vacation home.  Once again Scott took great care to site the house in order to take advantage of the beautiful views.  The design of this home is very different from our primary residence, but it lives just as well.  As our children marry and have children, it accommodates our expansions with graceful ease.  The appearance of the house is stunning, too.  It is an everyday occurrence to see walkers on the beach stop and take a picture of our house.

We couldn't be more pleased with both of our homes, and we highly recommend Scott Barnard and his team as architects.”
